Patrick Williams is a BUST - Ryan Poles is a GENIUS

I'll admit, bust is a STRONG word to use for a player in his 3rd season. However, after being the 4th overall pick in a draft that had several Allstar level talent, the Bulls landed a player who has yet to average 10 points per game in a season. Sure, it would've been nice if the Bulls drafted Tyrese Haliburton who has a BIG name coming out of college, but you can't turn back time. Although, without even using hindsight, there were some RED FLAGS with Patrick Williams, specifically not being able to crack the starting lineup in college.

It's not about talent, it's about mentality. I don't need stats to backup this statement: Patrick Williams' lack of aggression shows he's mentally weak on the court. Although, if you do want stats to back it up, he is averaging 9 PPG for the 3rd straight season. Don't give me any excuses like "We're only a few games in" or "he missed a lot of time last season". NONE of those excuses work. From his points to shooting percentages, literally there has been NO improvement since his rookie year. There are a few cases where players are subpar for the first few years and instantly explode, but there are even a fewer cases for that to happen when the player hasn't improved since his rookie year. Make all the excuses you want, but if Bulls fans are shocked anytime he scores over 10 points, dare I say 15 points, that usually isn't a positive sign.
Ryan Poles is a LOWKEY genius

There's not much Ryan Poles can take credit for Field's success. THAT SAID, there's a whole lot Poles has done in his short time in Chicago. The Bears made the hard decision (easy if you ask me) by trading Roquan Smith to the Ravens for draft compensation. Poles did what MANY Chicago GMs have failed to do: SELL HIGH ON TALENT!!! I guess you can give Garpax SOME credit by trading away Jimmy Butler for VERY talented players like Lauri Markkanen and Zach Lavine, but Jimmy Butler making it to the Finals didn't age too well for that storyline. Regardless, many times our Chicago GMs wait until their superstars take a step back and panic trade them for a low return. For that alone, I'd like to call Ryan Poles a genius. I would have a lot more good things to say if he just drafted George Pickens instead of using a 2nd round pick on Chase Claypool....but that's a topic for another day.
